In That Lonely Hour

In that lonely, quiet hour,
Alone with just your soul;
Guile has no place, nor power,
And pretence, none at all!

It's cogent (get out your thesaurus) and to the point. And it does what I typically try to do, say a lot with a little. Love and hugs babe...xoxo...Mel

another brilliant emily-inspired poem from you, mel! you really have the knack for getting so much into just a few words and doing it so well...

That's a compliment I'll save; thank you! "Brevity is the soul of wit," and poetry differs from prose primarily due to the "economy of language." To say a lot, with only a few words...that is what I aspire to. Thanks again, ilene :)
