In Season’s Why

Impressed am I
in season’s why
Autumn has paid
lavish visit;
her train is long;
royal colors
dazzle my street.

She lets me step
upon her robe
of yellow-red
and orange-brown.

Joy of  jewels -
a sage parade.
Just cool enough.
This season’s why,
I smile at North:
it’s Georgia’s turn.

For Winter sought
the ready North,
assigned her snow -
pearlescent gift.

And she, the North,
this year might share
few shovels full,
if she can spare.

Lovely! My uncle and his family once lived in Georgia, we stayed for about a week and a half there in 1968, it was summertime, so we swam in his pool every day, it was so pretty there! I would love to see fall colors, My daughter sent me a box of fall leaves from Indiana once, but they weren't colorful when they got here, so, if they send you a shovelful from the North, have em' send it express! ;) I love your poem, I love autumn, but only have my store-bought harvest decor, but I love it!

Your comment made me smile. I guess if they sent me snow it might come to me as water lol. There is a possibility of snow this year. I just know it. That leaf story is hilarious. Thank you, Bj. Big squeezy hug your way.

Dear Kim, I really enjoyed this one, it’s got such a warm, playful feel to it. I like how you gave the seasons their own personalities and let them trade places like old friends. It’s the kind of poem that makes you smile while reading, because it captures the beauty of everyday shifts in nature without overcomplicating things. It’s a lovely piece. Autumn Blessings, Dear Kim, Daniel
