In Search of God

When I permit myself to love
I am light and laughter.

I am the one who knows:
A flower brought to hell
Still makes a nicer smell

And when the moment is cracked
Light is shed.

When you love everything you fall from the fire.

And atop the rocky pyre
When you stand above your thoughts
You still roam
In search of God.

And now I've read this poem two days after
And see letters from different planets.
I see a man turning into another man.
I see alternate universes.

I see the wandering ghost.
My face as man.
My love as Word.
My search as God.
