              In search of a common thread
                  to stitch up the rent fabric of
                     a nation torn asunder ... 

              A shining beacon to light the 
                   way across an ocean of worry
                      and doubt ... 

              Friendships grounded in genuine care and concern
                     in mutual reciprocity, each for the other ... 

              A return to serving God and one another

We could say that about any era of the last 150 years, I think. I look at (some) young people today, and I am greatly encouraged by what I see.
