In Remembrance 2

We split the cost to dig a well in a small community in Uganda, Africa. We did this in or about 2006, more than 35 years after his service in Vietnam. My friend, George, fought gallantly in the war against the enemy in Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, our friendship was short-lived, and I do not remember if he caught enemy fire there. He returned home safely to America, but not before Agent Orange had entered his body. Sadly, George's battle with what was believed to be the results of Agent Orange proved to be fatal. As I write this, my watery eyes see his swollen body as it lay dying in the hospital room in 2007. My wife and I with another couple visited George in the hospital. He passed away the next day. George's service to his country in Vietnam was not in vain, and the well we funded still provides clean water in Uganda. 052322PS
