In My Shoes

Walk a mile in my shoes
See which path you would chose
And see how you feel

See the world through my eyes
Sob along as a baby cries
And see if there’s any appeal

Slog along the muddy road
Carry with you my heavy load
And wallow in my misery

Carry my baggage with you
See if you can struggle through
Help me solve life’s mystery

I try not to let my sorrow rule
Overcome I do when act the fool
I hold death’s hand at bay

See that I am trying to right
This madness my mind gives each night
I hope to reach sanity some day
