In My Heart
"Like the silence that screams, cursing solitude
Whispers of faith sing patiently with prayers…"
Regina McIntosh, "Heart Universes"
In my heart’s universe reigns the King of grace
Granting forgiveness packed with clemency bliss
Vanquishing guilt, freeing me from anguish-brace.
Love pervades over my soul from heart’s abyss
conquered by Prince of peace, Saviour Jesus Christ
prevailing against sins, confessed by faith kiss.
Around my heart is joy, contentment-sufficed
Filled well by God Who can satisfy indeed
Supplying me with bounty, heavenly-priced.
Reproving hypocrisy while checking my need
Dear Friend visits my heart’s fellowship chamber
Where in communion, my spirit He does feed.
Meeting me for service revival ember
brightening my heart against frustration blight
My Father assures with hope to remember.
Thus, in my heart*, worshiping midst triumph light
Holy Spirit leads, marked by His law’s delight.
*Psalm 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
