In My Day
In My day, if there was a welfare line I would have been in it
If there was a homeless shelter, I would have sought a bed
If there was universal health care, I would have enrolled
In my day, if there were wheel chairs, I would have been in one
If there was disability insurance, I would have certainly qualified
If there was cash and or general asistance, I would have accepted
But in my day, such things were not available to me. So I had to
Beg, pray, hope, and wait because I was an invalid who waited at a
Pool for 38 years. That's when a man asked me if I wanted to get
Well and I said yes. He commanded me to get up and walk, and
That is what I did. My name is Matman; his name was Jesus.*
