In Memory, Luis Alvarez,American Hero

In memory: Luis Alvarez, American Hero Thank you for working on the smoking ruins of 9/11! Those days when we were more than proud to be a free country. Yes, we worked together ever so proudly, as a family. Thank you for going to the Senate on June 11th! Sick as you could be Begging for money for two- hundred sixty-two people still ill. America has forgotten 9/11, with impunity. We still have not learned our history lesson. You truly were so ill, but never lost your compassion. Till your very last moment, you were a man of action! For God, for us all, in this great American nation. It's people like you, who make the Fourth,  A reason for a great and gratitude-filled, momentous celebration With profound respect and gratitude, Panagiota Romios July 3, 2019 10:30am PST

A wonderful tribute. It is amazing how fast we forget. So sad.

Moving tribute. Words fail us when considering the actions of men like Alvarez. May he inspires those of us left behind. Kudos. ~ gw

This is no time for words to fail! But, to print, to speak, with our hearts, mouth and pen to as many as we can of heroism. I think of the people of Ashkelon and Sderot undergoing daily onslaught. They never run. Principles and valor are in dire need. Appreciate your thoughts..Birkat Hashem, Panagiota

Nicely stated Panagiota- unfortunate that half of the political spectrum is focusing on nike sneakers instead of the sacrifices of a selfless man. Thank you for this poem.. God bless America..oops I just got put on Antifa's hit list for saying that. Happy fourth to you and yours Anthony

Yes, the dog whistles are deafening.Someone on TV said Kapernick likes no American flag, no anthem, nor does he like America..and can twist Nike's arm. It's terrible we cannot be Americans anymore but run by race baiters and multiple groups to shame this nation. Baloney on them. We are both on any America hating list..I promise. A blessed fourth to you and yours. Glad you are on this site, Panagiota

I hope your July 4th is not overshadowed by politics and tanks. The day should commemorate great men like Luis Alvarez. He indeed showed his spirit on Sept 11th and June 11th. Courage to the end.

Richard, nothing overshadows this holiday no matter how black the news paints this country. My heart and blood are red, white and blue. No tinges of pink. There is a plenitude of heros today painted as 'villians.' Courage to the end is what counts, yes..The courage to have unabashed pride in the USA. That's difficult for many. Panagiota

Panagiota, I remember seeing the Twin Towers collapse and thank Hashem that He spared me! It's men like Luis who are a credit to all Americans. You are to be thanked for resurrecting his legacy. Chaim

I only watched that tragedy on TV. Cannot imagine seeing it as it happened and so grateful you were spared. I have videotapes of the moment it occurred. Hours of horror and fear, and humanity, decimated. Luis was a hero. Appreciate your kind words. Birkat HaShem, Panagiota

Bless you Robert! I hope you are feeling way better. We all have down days. Yes, those first responders still are suffering gravely! My verse can't compare to their sacrifice. It's up to us, to show equal strength in the face of hostile forces. Blessings for posting. Panagiota. Thank you!

He looked so I'll in front of the Senate! There are 262 first responders to 9/11 suffering from cancer and other ill effects of working on that rubble. It s on the news today about Luis. He looked totally different on 9/11" I remember living in fear after that. Now I fear the hatred from within the country. I know it's not good. But good folks are out there, Tom. Happy Fourth. congrats on posting, by the way. Panagiota

I really would predict 3 at most and I maybe way wrong Takes courage to say you love your country.you indeed have courage, P.S. Love, Panagiota
