In Marked Territory

Fragile, delicate, beautiful thus rare
Three thousand meters above sea
In marked territory, listening to
Gurgling downward flow of
Waters of the sacred hill
A precious bloom stays
in the shades of tall trees.

A three feet high plant
Shy of sunlight,
Shy of plundering human hands
Shirui Lily, a pale pink bell-shaped
Flower that carries many tales
Shows rainbow colors
Through Microscopic lens.

Snubbed for being
So very mild, a lily
Not seen elsewhere
Bows gently to tell
Mother earth –
If I ever live
I live only here.

Hi thriveni, thank God it's free from plundering human hands, we do seem to destroy everything we touch.

Many times when I come back home from travels abroad I tell myself "this is where I belong" And this is what I imagine this plant to say if it could speak! Shirui Lily has beautiful flowers (hadn't heard of it before, but your poem tickled my curiosity and looked it up). ~ Regards // paul

I am happy by your kind visit dear poet. Isn't it amazing to know that this pale flower 'Shirui Lily' shows rainbow colors when viewed through microscope? I wonder who recognized that first! Botony was rough on me at school, I always fumbled at those spellings.I am glad you liked this dear poet. I am grateful to you for your blessings.

I am mystified by the languid mood of this piece, trevi...yes, we do hold our own space because we belong just there...amazing!
