In Glee

When hearts are torn in sorrow
And days await weeks to borrow
A scented Eurasian herb called yarrow
I stand afar in glee;

When blessings are so nearby in mass
And hedgehogs hop upon the green-grass
On a melody for a dancer trying a chasse
I stand afar in glee;

When love is the surname of every being
Shimmering sincerity and guaranteeing
Its rank in holiness and power of freeing
I stand afar in glee!

Dear Dave, I am fond of old words. In my perspective, they have a latent power. When I read for writers or poets from the past centuries, eloquence words are found in every corner. I bid you good dreams and hope the Winged Daemon would be gentle with you!

Dear Sara, thank you for stopping by. Hedgehogs are really strange, especially their pines, which they use for defence in attack by throwing them. As kids, we used to collect them to use as quills for writing. Excellent things! As for yarrows, they are lovely herbs of many benefits.

Dear Linda, We tend to seek happiness in all of its forms, but I believe that there is much more happiness in us when we feel it surrounding us rather than only being graced by it. It is a supreme goal. The hint of sorrow is: When I see broken and wounded hearts healed by the power of magical effect of yarrow (a herb from the Greek times said to be used for healing wounds), I feel happy!

what a cute repeating line at the end of each stanza. Reminds me of kyrielle form!!

You are right. It is similar to it in a way, save the fact that most kyrielles are of religious attributes. Thank you for visiting the page and reading the post.

I chose to stand afar to take a better and keen look, for reading people and life is not as reading a book... My time to meddle in shall come one day, I am sure, and then what I have gained could stand as a ready cure! Mr. Lamoureux, I am honored to be welcomed by you. Thank you!!

Mr. Trifiatis, I have read many of your poems to which I found my words are too frail to comment on them... So, it is my very good honour to stretch out my thankfulness for adorning my post with your precious comment. Most appreciated.
