The Fall of Man (detail) by Hendrik Goltzius, 1616
She was not alone in the garden. It was not that Adam was in the back forty fishing, or out in the meadow still naming creatures. He was right there beside her, could have reached out and stopped her from playing the devil's game. He should have resisted, could have simply said no, instead he was two-timed and lured by Eve and the snake!

It is interesting that Adam was exonerated and Eve the evil-doer, being seduced by the snake, took the fall. Snake only made the offer. Eve took the bait, and Adam went fishing with it. LOL :)
