In Days of Old
There was a once upon a time
when fairy tales came true;
when animals talked and ogres walked,
and childhood days were endless.
Lovely rainbows had an end
and the fabled pot of gold.
Knights dressed in shining armor
and rode a snow white stallion.
Genies often granted wishes,
as did the fairy queen.
It was summer in the winter time
and spring was nine months long.
One might just glimpse a leprechaun
or find his footprints on the grass.
The maiden married her good prince
and lived happily ever after.
