In a Position

Written By: D. Collins 2/4/16
I wish I were in position to make a difference.
A position of clout where people heard me out.
Where I could light the fire of an eternal flame.
Make sure the scales of justice swung the same.
If I were in position to meet with Heads-of-State.
I’d surely convince them , right now is too late.
I’d flood them with data and indisputable facts.
I’d overwhelm them. Republican and Democrats.
The truth doesn’t lie. It holds strong conviction.
That’s how I would ride, if I were in a position.
The way young, black, men will ever achieve that,
is through education, not the drugs and a gat.
