In a Neighborhood Bar

Three drunken gentlemen in a neighborhood bar Discussing the wise men who travelled afar: Said one, that he found it “unlikely, at best” They made that journey with very little rest, Another said the star appeared in the east But the Magi, in their haste, were travelling west. The last gentleman, he was chuckling with glee Said “It makes absolutely no difference to me!” written October 11, 2021

When I am enthusiastic I can go a long time without rest, so I would have loved to have been sitting at the next table in that bar. I would have leapt over there and straightened them out about that. Thank you for giving me a new poem idea.

You're welcome. This is the first time I've used the bar scene, but I can foresee more coming from that direction. I'll probably write some more letters to and from my aunts, as well.

But the bigger question in the bar is.... "whose round is it?"

That may very well be right, John. Probably the guy who has picked up his tab and is leaving.

The true story about the star and the 'wise' men is much different than popular teachings... such is my belief. But this is high humor and well done.

So true, Tom. I love to listen to guys argue in a bar, when none of them know what they are talking about, but are dead certain they are right about something.

So it was just the journey?

It's just a recollection of what they said, Rico.

Thanks, Dave. I enjoyed writing it. When a bunch of guys get into conversation and drinking, they come up with some great lines.
