In a Dream

What are sounds if you cannot hear?
Sights you cannot see
An embrace you cannot feel
What if your emotions are lost?
Would you still love me?

If you were far away you could not hear me
Nor would you see me
You would not feel my hugs
Feelings would be drenched
Would you still want me?

If you could not sense I was there
You would not feel the security
Nor could you find fulfillment of love
What if you fell into oblivion?
Would you still know me?

You are waking now from a midnight dream
Senses are stirring you back to reality
All was not lost in the numbness of sleep
You found me sleeping at your side
I was dreaming of you still loving me
