Importance
You do not deserve
the elegance of
Shakespeare’s sonnets, or
the grace of rhyme, or
haiku’s pure beauty
when you wound and
scorn my bleeding;
scorch my soul and
deny the fire,
so I will
confine you,
diminish
you to
but one
word
