Importance

You do not deserve
the elegance of
Shakespeare’s sonnets, or
the grace of rhyme, or
haiku’s pure beauty

when you wound and
scorn my bleeding;
scorch my soul and
deny the fire,

so I will
confine you,
diminish

you to
but one
