Immortality
Why does a man have to die
Earth goes on for billions of years in the sky
How long is a man's life suppose to be
That it can honestly guaranty
Why can't man live 500 years spry
Or a thousand. Why does he have to die
Almost the moment he's born
In such a short span of years for·lorn
What is it in the scheme of things to be
A handful of years, then eternity
Under the cold, cold ground in a box
Some call that an endless life par·a·dox
After all, what are a few hundred worth
Or a few thousand years on earth
The world will go on forever and a day
Or is this a facet of imagination play
