Immortal Light
Almost, almost, my light went out with yours.
My spirit comatose, could it still live?
Our God was there and touched and found a spark.
He showed me I had yet a bit to give.
Reluctantly, I stirred and took His hand.
He gently lifted me to firmer ground.
With His help now, I seek to find the way
To set you free, your spirit homeward bound.
I longed to keep you here with me, always,
But God had plans that were no part of mine.
Your light was strong enought to linger still,
God's breath has given it immortal shine.
Each night I search the sky for that new star,
He promised He would show me from afar.
Won an 8th
