Imagine

Imagine a love that’s true,
A love that would last a lifetime.
Would he tell her he’ll love her always?
Or would he whisper false promises in the dark?
He doesn’t feel the same way she feels
He doesn’t comprehend what she’s so desperately
Trying to make him understand…
Imagine what it would be like to be Me.
Too scared to cry – yet fearless and strong!
Trying so hard to be cold on the outside
While being torn apart on the inside.
Imagine…
Holding on to old dreams and silent memories
Living a make-believe life in a make-believe world.
When your skeletons start closing in…
And your memories become too painful to deal with…
“Hiding behind a mask is all I know how to do!”
(Unable to release all I have hidden deep within…)
Imagine…
What it must be like to be too scared to feel…
