Image of Innocence

She grew up, and was taught 
that people are good. 
Nobody would harm her, even 
if they could.

But found as she has aged, not 
all people are the same.
Even best friends, can turn on you 
with hate and disdain.

Yet each new friend, she trusts with 
all her naive heart.
Welcoming each, into her heart is a 
warm and affectionate jumpstart!

Innocence will always be attacked by those that live to do evil. They are rabid dogs awaiting each new meal. I myself, have seen in many times in my life. Even fought it to help others being attacked. Sad but true, man oft is a thing that thinks only of self. Your poem sings a great truth my friend. A fav, and a gem too.

The trick is-- to never give up. Life demands we fight evil, imho. I do so in my writings. Truth, light, honor demands a warrior. Hold high standards or else become like them. Never, I will never be like them. God bless..

Sometimes I wish I had an evil heart. Being real in the world is meaningless….being supportive? The prize is loneliness. I too am like you, trying to protect people. It does not work.selfishness, vanity counts more. Loyalty? Is thrown out the door.I learned that here only too.well. Sadly, Pangie xxx

Hi, Elena.. Glad you and Michelle got the message! The wise here learned from injuries..there’s much sniveling here about world peace? Yet some do all in their power to destroy you. If a site can’t be peaceful, why blame the world? I know some of the walking wounded here. People that I admire greatly. Loving honest poets! Merci, Pangie x x
