I'M Still Here

I’m still Here

Eighty Three years have swiftly flown… but I’m still here
Old friends have died or moved away
And I read the obituaries every day
Just to see… if I’m still here
But time hasn’t changed me to any degree
I still speak my mind if I disagree and laugh as hard
(Or maybe more) and appreciate life
More than I did before…for I’m still here
Time is precious… not a minute to waste
New friends to meet, new wines to taste
I must impart my wisdom to the young
Learn new things, before my songs are sung
I’ve poems to write…stories to tell
(Although I know they’ll never sell)
In order to leave memories that last
I have inscribed the history of my past
Don’t count me out too soon my dear
I’ve got much more to say…and I’m still here!
