Notes About The Poem

I'M Not Real

I’m not real….
I’m a woman woven from wonder’s imagination
Ethereal….the cotton candy of a dream
the glow and sparkle of a stream
the luxuriant lusciousness of cream
the sparkle that scintillates the surreal
the smooth softness of silky feel
But I’m not real…

I’m the sparkle left of angel dust
the fair fairy in fiction’s feast
the tantalizing temptation tease
the benevolence of balmy breeze
Oh….
But, I’m not real

I’m not real…
You catch only glimpses of me
in what I want to reveal
What I want to conceal
I’m not real….
but when you read
those little rhymes
and poetry lines
Those emotions that you feel?
Those?
Yes!
Those are real….

"I’m the sparkle left of angel dust" this feels plausible, Eileen.:) Angel dust might be scarce, yet you have managed to find its essence. There is marvel and enchantment in what is "real", you have definitely proven that with this write. "Emotion" has its own charismatic charm. Keep well, Mikki

Lovely alliteration throughout this most dreamy poem- "the sparkle that scintillates the surreal the smooth softness of silky feel" Love those lines. That ending is simply golden. Excellent verse! You are a beautiful, exceptional poet with a deep, fascinating imagination. I often drift into my own fantasies, lost from reality... wishing you the best, and will be reading more! I'd like to know if you have a favorite poem of yours that you have written. I'd love to read it if so! Always, Laura

Hello, Laura....Thanks again for the lovely visit. My poems are all my babies, but yes...there are ones that I love more than others. Perhaps you'd like to give my poem...At Dreamland's Gate. I wrote that for a special someone some time ago. It was my first entry into a contest...and my first win! It has special memories for me. Thanks for the visit. hugs

You are a poetess who writes from the heart; some things you conceal, but the temptation to reveal all is also evident. You wish for total freedom of expression, but restraint comes knocking at the door! The picture above is not real....but Eileen and her poetry are. hugs // paul

:) Thank you, Paul. I often thought to myself that instead of the teaching profession, you should have gone into psychiatry. I say this with respect. I'm sure you make a great teacher, but your ability to read me so well and know my thoughts has always amazed me. Thank you for being there for me...and finding my writing real. HUGS

You're writing about that line of luscious luxuriant cream, eh? David...you are very sweet to me today. :) I'm very very happy with this post. Words mean so much to me. Have you heard of the 5 love languages? Mine are touch and words of affirmation, so you DO know your audience....As for the touch bit...Eh...Can't get it all right? ;) Thanks for the visit....Hey...you're drooling...Pick up a tissue for goodness sake! ;) HUGS

;) That's what I project here, my dear. I am what I write...in many ways...Still...I felt the need to write this. I can't live up to people's expectations sometimes...I'm just a simple woman...with a big heart...and body! ;)

What makes something real? I believe that when we give an idea thought it then becomes real. I for one appreciate your imagination and how you create such passion with your words. You my dear are the creator of worlds. You are amazing!

I'm touched, Richard. THIS....THIS POST...This is real! Some of the people I know here are more real to me than some of the people I meet on a day to day basis. Why? They have invested MORE time in me....You are one of those precious few. Thank you, Richard. Thanks you....Hugs.

Oh my dear, you do not need words to describe you, not even poems! Just present yourself as you are and this would be more than enough to surpass any description one could ever master! A seven+++

How does the song go..."you put a spell on me". I think that you are the enchantress living deep in the forest hidden from prying eyes. She who knows her craft and can perform miracles of passion for all those who dare to read what she has penned. I think you are all to real and blessing for those who dare. Love Shane xxx

HA HA HA HA!!! Oh dear...Don't get me started on THAT! That seductress bit IS REAL! My favorite Bible character...OTHER THAN PAUL...I ADORE PAUL...Is...wait for it.....DELILAH!!! I have a poem up about her. I know that is wicked, but well....I do admire her. She made Samson fall. Though I'm sad for him and the whole demise of one of the most respect people of God...I think...WHAT A WOMAN! Now you got me going...Thanks, Shane.

You are entirely welcome my enchantress. Keep your secrets hidden safe and deep. But i beg to differ on one point the only thing transparent about you is possibly something you dress one of your seductress' in. stay safe and warm love Shane xxx

Shane, that must be one of the sweetest things that's ever been said to me. :) I do love that idea of being an Enchantress. I sure was in my heyday! :) I've written on that theme. I must say...there is a certain transparency to my writes...but I don't like prying eyes. You're so right about that. I choose what to reveal and what to conceal and I don't appreciate assumptions, though I do make some of my own. I know...Silly, right? I'm not an ideal woman...wife...or mother...Much of my frustration is self caused. :( I have my hang ups and sorrow and sometimes just feel like giving up, but I'm still here. I'll still write to my dying day. It's part of my identity. Thanks for your lovely visit. I needed that.
