I'M Not Angry
Rejected, ignored, resented, torn
Wondering, wandering, faltering, forlorn
You force-fed me snakes when I asked for bread
You licked me with flames and Left me for dead
I’m not angry
Tormented, frustrated, exhausted, shattered
You thought of yourself and nothing else mattered
I lie here in chains awaiting my savior
Instead you pass on by, there’s nothing to say here
I’m not angry
Crawling, slouching, in here and out there
Nothing to do but sit there and pout here
Cradle me close and burn the noose
It’s buried in my neck, but it’ll come loose
I’m not angry
You’re asking me why
And I’m showing you why
You wanted me to die
So give up the lie
Listen to my cries—you just can’t ignore
The pain I endured, and I’m begging you for more
Because next time you will very well see
That the persistent flames you use—you love…are Me
And I am not angry
— I am furious
