Notes About The Poem

I'M In Love With Your Avatar

My heart beats,
a rhythm that never stops.
“I love you,”

From far away I hear her reply:
“Do you?”

Yet thousands of miles separate us.
I only see your avatar.
I do not know exactly what you look like.
Still my heart echoes:
“I love you.”
Oh, that I could kiss that lovely face!
That I could hold you in my arms!
That I could make love to you!

I can almost see her smile.
“You don’t love me.
You only love my avatar.”

Love doesn't need bodily presence, it can flourish even in the very thoughts. Enjoyed this poem imbued with deep passion , dear Victor!

I guess it’d be easy to fall in love with an avatar who has captured one’s heart. It can’t be for their looks, they go unseen, but for what’s read between the lines of a poetry king or queen…… A fantastic write Victor ~ Belle

LOL! One of the many dilemmas of the computer age. A fun poem, Victor. Maybe millions of years from now, long distance romance will mean from planet to planet. Best wishes, Evelyn :D

Those avatars can be very tricky, Victor! Perhaps it would be best to first fall in love with her poetry. ~ Regards // paul

Maltese examinations would define this as Reductio ad absurdum. How can anyone fall in love with an avatar?

You have great talents, Victor, to feel the unseen and read the unsaid. Splendid use of imagination.

It's tough to evaluate merely an avatar person, Victor. When I think about what people enjoy and hate, and if they are harsh or kind, my imagination becomes wild because you never know what you're going to get. I think it is great to wander on the part of love since the world does need more of it.

Too cute Victor. This gave me a chuckle. I have to agree with Tom here and also with Forest Gump who said, "Life is like a box of chocklates, you never know what you're gonna get." God Bless, JB

It is so hard to judge the person by an avatar. Myself, my imagination runs wild wondering what are their likes ,their dislikes, are they mean or are they gentle. ?????????????? Hugs Eve
