I'M Here

If I were to ask you

What was on your mind

Would your words shape to please me

What's said is all a lie

Would you let me see your sorrow

Or leave it veiled inside

Would you say to me, your worries

Or bind it all to hide

If you were feeling down

Would you let me know

Would you trust to tell me

And let the sorrow flow

If you needed someone

Would you see me next to you

If I offered you my heart

What would you really do

Sometimes I have to wonder

If you even see me here

Are your problems locked away

Or just not for me to hear

Do you trust to let me know

When you're really not alright

Or would you go to someone else

And tell me that you're fine

I love you, deeply so

To me you've very dear

I only want to know

That you'd choose to keep me near

When you're saddened or alone

Confused or filled with fear

I need to know you'd come to me

Because I am always here.

This is very nice, Dawn. Sometimes the ones we love find it difficult to open up to us and let us help carry their burden.
