I'M Dreaming of a White Zombie

on the barren shores of drifting sleep,
in the dusty fortress of the mind,
we face the tortures of subconscious dreams,
and wrestle them for bleak and endless time.

ghastly, pallid, wan and chill
a thought of death emerges.
it lives and breathes in craggy castles,
haunts and beats the jagged rocks,
drinks and dries the roaring ocean,
soaks and quells the flame of being,
chokes and blots the light of life.

born of mindless, dead destruction,
raised in caverns in the ground,
fed on corpses in their coffins
it lives in death for endless time.

immersion in a fevered slumber,
forging through the endless night,
for i'm dreaming of a white zombie
who leads me to the gates of hell.
