I'm Done

Author Dana Redricks December 12, 2023 (Verse 1) I don't wanna live like this no more, tired of the pain, the misery at my door. Can't endure it, can't take it anymore, Gotta find my strength and step through this new door. I'm changing the page and flipping the script. I can't take this anymore. Tired of being broken-hearted and unseen, Walked all over like I'm just a mat, so mean. You mistook my kindness for weakness, thought I'd always be near, but you don't know me like that. (Pre-Chorus) A person's limits can only go so far, about to break, believe me, I'm gonna break. When I break, I break, there's only so much a person can take. I won't tolerate being taken for granted, I'm leaving it all behind. When I'm done, I'm done and you will see I'm not the one. (Chorus) You don't know my limitations, I'm about to break, can't take this anymore. I'm walking out the door, standing on my own, your love, once I cherished, now I'm alone. (Verse 2) When I break, I break, feeling shattered, disappointed through and though I can't bear this pain, it's time for something new. I'm tired of being used, tired of the blues, I've paid my dues and now I'm through. People will use you, till you say no more, Kindness mistaken, weakness they adore. But I'm done, I can't bear this anymore, Heading for the door, watch me soar. (Bridge) You don't believe it, just watch and see, What it means to live without me, I'm done being mistreated, abused, and used, finding self-love, I won't be confused. (Chorus) I'm done, I'm done, no more being deceived, used and abused, my worth now retrieved. I'm finally free from your toxic reign, I'm done with you, embracing my own lane. (Outro) Thought I couldn't do it, but now you will see I'm finally free, oh-so-free, unchained and ready to be. No longer letting people take advantage of me, It's a new chapter of life, where I'm meant to be free.
