Illusion of Solidity

Line of inquiry:

”The dream seems real since we don a form,
borrowed from elements of that domain,
but if we simply chose not to conform,
we wake up when desires to rest are lain.” Unseeking Seeker

The world we touch, looks like solid surface,
A certainty that seems to hit the face,
Like the floor beneath us, the chair we grace,
Like the unbending stone, the stable space.

But if we glance anew, with inner eye,
Where vanishing vapours veer to the sky,
Or the age long mountain stretches in time,
They are but perceptible shades that mime.

The river's flow, a continuous stream,
Is but water borne from a fleeting dream,
A wild warm whispering light, a shrewd fray,
Unraveling its cute form every day.

We build walls, from neighbours to shelve ourselves ,
Render arid deserts our inner self,
Yet in its appearance, though rough and small,
The spaces shine, beyond any recall.

The nearby earthen field on which we stand,
Sprinkled with cosmic dust from distant lands,
Is constantly in motion, round and round,
But it is not felt, nor a settled ground.

So, let us not trust solely what we feel,
The touch that renders all matter real,
For all that we may grasp, all we may see,
May just be shades of a frail tapestry.

The touch can deceive as the sight can lie,
Beneath the clear celestial open sky.
For all objects are in motion, in flow,
The only truth we`ll ever truly know.
