Illusion of Peace

Melodiously chirping are birds all around, Through my window penetrates the rays of sunshine. In my room I can smell coffee freshly ground, Of a bright and wonderful day, all this is a sign. For my morning read I am ready, With a steaming cup of coffee by my side. I sit on the porch where the morning breeze is steady, On seeing the newspaper my eyes open wide. Amity has spread throughout humanity, And in harmony all have decided to live. An end has been put to all the countries vanity, Has the newspaper finally some hope to give. Peace has spread amongst people of different races, Since terrorism kills no one. There seems to be unmatched joy on all faces, Issues are now sorted without wielding the gun. Finally women have an indistinguishable rank, From all atrocities they are freed. Feels like a potion of peace all have drank, For cowardly attacks and riots there is no need. Amidst all this, I feel something is amiss, Weird is the world without any dispute. All this peace no longer feels like bliss, As mankind feels disrupted in this route. I push, pull, scream and shout, Because a perfect world would make life boring. With this thought from my dream, I am pulled out. And outside my window the rain is pouring. Out of my bed, towards the door I scurry, And hurriedly the newspaper I find. The headlines got rid of my worry, As the whole world was in the same grind. All was fine and all was ordinary, As the world remains as controversial as always. Of all the threats and problems the men were made wary, As the mankind returns to its original ways.

Aadhya, When more men begin to live for their countries, fewer will be called upon to die for them. A deceitful peace is worse than open war.
