Illusion

invention of my rich imagination; false impression I embraced; imitation of truth I believed completely; impactful delusion impressed upon my mind; ignis fatuus* that inevitably burst into shards of pain and irretrievable trust a Pleiades that kept growing *something deluding or misleading May 9, 2022 entered in Unseeking Seeker's "Bubble of Illusion" contest

I like how it started out one type of poem and took on a life of its own. Awesome job with the theme.

Your poem was as salt in a newly closed wound, yet healing none the less..Hope this is something you heard about and not something you lived.Enjoyed the line impressed upon the mind especially as that is truly the case whether by love starved self delusion or the calculations of another. So enjoyed, ouch, really did.
