Illusion

Everything in this world is a fleeting illusion, We live contented in unmitigated delusion, What we can see perhaps is not quite as it is, We hear the audible, not the sounds we miss. In a pool of water, looks bent the immersed stick, In the sky the eagle becomes a speck, is that a trick! Creatures hear ultra-sonic sounds, but why can’t we? We should hear them too, if they are there in reality! In the oases, the enticingly deceptive mirage we can see, Pools of clear water, greeneries and swaying palm tree, We hurry to moisten our parched lips, to quench our thirst, But our hopes melt in the desert, our dreams are cursed. When we see a writhing caterpillar crawling on a leaf, It’ll fly as a butterfly, might be contrary to our belief, On seeing a tadpole twirling merrily in waters deep, We can’t imagine that one day as a frog it will leap. It is all a false illusion and disastrous delusion my friend, Nothing exists as it seems, from the beginning to the end, A man is born helpless, a babe to gurgle, babble and cry, But becomes a gargantuan bully, from an innocuous fry!
