Notes About The Poem

I'Ll Do Anything For Love

All things can tempt me from picking up my pen, but the most demanding is housework and men! I sit at my desk, I’m all geared up to write Son begs please wash my jeans, I need them tonight! I grab dirty clothes, pile them in the machine - He will hang them outdoors when they are all clean! Son retreats to his room, soon he’s sound asleep I’ll hang out his laundry – my writing can keep! He bounds in the room asking ‘mum what’s for tea’ I’ll prepare a meal - then write my poetry! NB . My son has flown the nest - fictional poem for contest All Things Can Tempt Me Poetry Contest Sponsored by Beth Evans 11 syllables each line 2/20/20

Jan, love the pic of 'OctoMom' juggling all those distractions, and your brilliant poem about laundry, cooking, and taking care of son - a really fun read. Congrats, and all the best ~ John

So true, Jan. Congratulations! By the way what's for tea - one of my favorite activities as an inveterate tea drinker!

I'm not at home but am currently sitting in a room overlooking the stormy sea, I can hear the waves and its getting the creative juices flowing as there is nothing here to distract me which is so often the case if you are at home:-) hugs jan xx

What an enjoyable read! I can ditto all your distractions. Sometimes I feel like Jack-in-the-box, jumping up every two seconds to attend to something or the other that "needs" my attention (lol). This is very witty and I can easily visualize the scenarios. Excellent write that will definitely come out on top in the contest! Brava! Hugs. Pandita

It is difficult to find time to write poetry as often things will come to me while in the shower or driving and then they are gone. I loved this and cute picture. I think you have a winner here. My daughter Jen is in labor right now. Love, Connie xxoo

:) I laughed all the way through this, Jan. Maybe I'm lucky there are no men in my house. By the time you make that last meal, you're probably ready for a nap. Enjoyed this delightful read, Carolyn

Adorable and a poem I sure relate to; however, I can't think of anything I want to do more than write when my muse comes. There are though things I'm supposed and meant to do called responsibilities which sure get in my muse's way. Good luck with the contest and all else. A clever poem. Hugs ... CayCay

The Old World gods continue to thrive because they determined that women should live longer than men so they can mind, feed, and clean-up after their grandchildren? Your muse must have more to write, but you nailed this one! Aloha! Rico
