Notes About The Poem

Ignore Me Tonight

My love, you ignore me, every time you’re asleep,
Whenever you drift away.
I know you ignore me in the dark of the night,
When you snore through the words that I say.

And my comments, they are big, fantastic ideas,
Of us both being free on a beach.
Yet your eyes stay closed, all you add is a snore,
Through every little bit of my speech.

I wish you were here to hear of my dreams,
Of walking the city of lights.
Still, it's clear you’re already there in your dreams,
As you smile through every bit of the night.

Nice turn about, I have awakened to my own snores, but keep sharing your dreams.

I enjoyed your poem. Lewis. Usually, it's the man doing the snoring:)
