Igbere

I long for you, Igbere. My soul cries out for you. All the time; everywhere. Only for you. My mother; There is no other. For many moons and many nights, I have been casted away from your thighs. Far in this land of kind foreigners. Like a maiden separated from her tribe; Trembling, not knowing what will be. Lost in the thick of the forest, looking for the ukazi leaves: the greener. Oh, it has been long. And I am starved of your face My heart knows no peace and the waters of my eyes fall for the place Where my ancestors belong. I long for you, Igbere. Your warm embrace. And your divine face.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

This is all very lovely, Kelchi...has an almost tribal Red Indian wording to it; I can really sense the pangs of yearning that the writer feels for their faraway homeland - beautiful poetry! My best regards. :) john P.s Let me know whereof you write. :)
