If what life fetches me is fate

If what life fetches me is fate’s domain,
How I meet it, the matter of free will,
Let me compare then Karmic Law with rain--
Rain that pours all where with impartial keel,
Nourishing seeds that to their stature grow,
And human dreams so flourish-- seeds as sown,
Weeds we pluck out and grass-grown jungle mow,
A fragrant crop, fruits of labour to own.
Errant rage rivers, we rein in the same
And an arid land by power-of-will smiles,
Forward moves a car, lateral we tame
By steering to move ahead for long miles:
Fuel fosters a forward dash-- destiny,
How power-of-will steers is no less eerie.
