If This Was My Last Contest Poem

If this was my last contest poem, I’ve no idea what I’d write about. My mind is vacant. Memories are fading in a world which wants to shut old ways out. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll die! Then my last poem this would be! July 18, 2020 for Contest of Silent One

O no no, I must protest This can't be your last. Even though it ain't your best As you wrote it fast. Kidding, dear, I say in jest If you want to joust Maybe there's a metal vest With a knight to roust. If you write so well and free With no ending place Then your fertile mind can be In a feudal chase. If you write a final song For a special friend If the whole world sings along Does it really end? Through the galaxy it flies Glory in a poem Maybe win a contest prize Where the Martians roam.

I've wondered the same. It would be a little chaotic to decide which thoughts to be penned first and how much. Glad this isn't your last one and I would have the privilege to read beautiful ones from your pen Andrea. Loved how you framed it in an Etheree, declining towards the end. Congratulations on your win! :) Much love

This poem is built on truth. Many of us would draw a blank if we knew it was our last one.

they will deny deny deny, Michael, even when you show them evidence of how the Covid numbers are manipulated. Did you see the video that got removed from youtube? A girl showed how to type in any three digit number followed by the words "New Cases" and it will bring up your number along with Covid info ... ANY number!

very thoughtful write here, my friend. Hope all's well with you. Very sad about Matt Amish (although I didn't know him). Do you think he died of Covid?

I don't think he died of Covid because he had a bout with some bad illness last year. Maybe it returned or maybe Covid complicated it? Jan says she has left me a link about him. I need to track down where she left it for me!!

Andrea, hi, Please don't die, Why? I, I, I'd cry, That's why! You can fly, Ten miles high, Somewhere in a flaming sky. It's no lie, When you try, Life is like a lullaby.

I recently learned that a guy I had known here at least ten years passed away without me even knowing it, probably in February. His poetry leaves off in January. he was my age. We just never know, Bryan. but I am glad to know you would miss me if I died!

Andrea, Would it be the last, we'll read to the last. And wonder at our fortunate fate in this game of chance. -Richard

Trying to get my head and my arms around that line, "Perhaps tomorrow I'll die!"... I want to put a very, very sad e-moji next to 'die.' Here's to Life, anyway. Take good care now, Andrea! :) gw
