Notes About The Poem

Written for " if only you knew" contest sponsored by the silent one

If only you knew

Is there enough adjectives I can use,
to sew these sensitive sensations to you,
when my dandelion heart is
  dense with combustible phrases,
and my sunken soul is weeping
  into the weariness of wildfires?
They say beauty can never
  be found in the dark,
oblivious to the
 vibrancy of neon nights~
streaks of fluorescent flares glaring
  above forests of flickering lights,
there iridescent colors run through the
  skyline like vast vibratos,
filling my lungs with iridescent phrases
too enigmatic to roll of my tongue.

Yet your flourishing name
flows in flawless
  frequencies through
this forsaken surface,
and I wear these wings drenched
  in burning fresh-spring waters,
glistening in immeasurable
  shades of opalescent feathers,
as the majestic moon still graces
my somber sky with all those
  stolen smiles I’ve left unseen,
for I am but a floating spirit just
  above demonic halos
  that shine so deceptively,
carrying my strength wreathed in
  fireflies fortifying
  my faceless complexion,
where the only home to
my name is beneath the stars
  in the wilderness of your
  ambrosial affection,
whilst I keep sprinkling
traces of what is
 now left in my empathy
 that has been pinioned~
 to the grains of gratitude
  in gardenia love.

If only you knew, without you,
 I’ll be trashed in turmoil,
 wrecked in disarray~
you are the poetic reason,
  I am an inked poem
  woven with an iron quill,
rippling with amorous alliterations
  and magnolia metaphors,
as the nightly creatures still lurk
  in the shadows of
  our twin-flame footprints,
constantly trying to seize
 the alluring aurora that lessens
the miles between my electric dusk
         and your honeysuckle dawn…

I think you will always find adjectives, you do it so naturally and poetically. The concluding lines powerfully encapsulate your dependence on their beloved: "If only you knew, without you, I’ll be trashed in turmoil, wrecked in disarray." The metaphor of being an "inked poem woven with an iron quill" signifies a deep-seated connection to the beloved, with "amorous alliterations and magnolia metaphors" symbolizing the enduring beauty and creativity inspired by this love. Congrts on 1st place

Dear Empress, with an unrivalled mastery of language you always write. The vibrancy and feelings your poems evoke cannot be expressed in apt words. Please forgive my inability to rate them or highlight them."If only you knew, without you, I’ll be trashed in turmoil, wrecked in disarray~ you are the poetic reason, I am an inked poem woven with an iron quill, rippling with amorous alliterations and magnolia metaphors,"..... I am lost in the beauty of your words and swept away in the torrent of passion you have let loose. This goes into my FAVE.

IE, somehow you manage to put what I think is the feeling of love into words. Pretty powerful stuff. It's remarkable. I think there is some unusual energy emanating from the Maldives that has no scientific explanation. We had a recent strong aurora borealis and magnetic storm, but it's a drop in the bucket compared with the energy you have stirred up.

Dear Inky, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! So much to admire here as always with your creative, vivid artistry on full display for all to be in awe of. Your use of all poetic devices fit you hand in glove dear one. ‘ above forests of flickering lights’ ‘ for I am but a floating spirit’ ‘ our twin- flame footprints’ and those last two lines beautifully expressing the distance is just gorgeous. Loved it! Looks like a winner to me too dear Inky but good luck anyway. Well done.

Wonderful lexical jewels resonate with a symphony of feelings, dear Ink, you set your painting ablaze with metaphors and emotional flames. You adorn yourself with these wings, which shimmer with an infinite variety of opalescent feather colors, and which are immersed in scalding spring waters. intricately crafted using an iron quill, dripping with allusions about love. Your words depict the transformative power of love, grace, and poetry. Like sunshine, your lyrical poetry banishes darkness and brings joy. Best wishes for the contest

Empress, your poetic prowess wonderfully creates a spellbinding narrative filled with the universal longings of the human experience. I felt the depth of your feelings shining through every line, a captivating portrait of love, longing, and the beauty found in the darkest corners of the soul. As the nightly creatures lurk in the shadows, I find peace in the twin-flame footprints left behind, knowing that the aurora of love lessens the miles between us and our loved ones. In your dahlia dawn, I find sanctuary, a home for my wandering soul. A FAV, for Sure, for all kinds of reasons. Blessings, my dear friend, Daniel
