If Only Love Was Fair

If only love was fair
For then I'd have my way,
Not stifled and left bare
By every prayer they pray.

If only love was fair
Our times would be but bliss,
Not ravaged by their glare-
Ashamed to share a kiss.

If only love was fair
We would be hand-in-hand,
Yet, still we let them tear
The love of us my friend...
