If Only Life Were As Simple As a Fairytale

If olny life were as simple as a fairytale,
we could see what we wanted to happen,
not just simply hopes and thoughts in our head.

Evil would evade from all worries and fears,
"worry" would disappear from the English dictionary and vocabulary altogether.
Stress would cease to exist.

Wrong choices wouldn't be followed by consequences,
and every choice would be followed with positive reactions.

Laughing would be part of our daily routine,
and one would always smile,
even if it's the hardest thing to do in the moment.

With the flick of a wand,
our troubles would vanish,
and a few taps with our ruby slippers
would send us in the right direction.

Every future would have it's own happy ending,
if only life were as simple as a fairytale.

I love the idea of having a fairytale life, it just sounds perfect, but then I look at my life, my friends, and my boyfriend and think I wouldn't want it any other way.

You make the reader long for a fairytale, a Camelot, that exists only in children's stories. You describe well the view of life I had as a child. Growing up brings consequences and negative reactions when we make the "Wrong choices." Wish I could enter the magical kingdom you describe! Fascinating perspective in a beautiful poem! Love, Carolyn
