If Only I Could Love Myself

To love you Red , is a pride,
to weep in your tears is my desire....
to be a recipient of your charm is Life
''You are the dazzling star, the purest dream
a river to the most beautiful stream....

With a face like yours, I can't imagine. Looking in the mirror, not letting love in. When you discover the magic cure. That's when you'll know that love is pure.

If we love not ourselves and do not strive to better ourselves then how can anybody else love us?? Great and deep poem in such few words my friend. I too, often get down on myself but remember later to rise up and walk a greater mile! Stay the "purest dream" my friend and life will bring sweet joy unbound..A7

WOW, Red, you shared painful emotions when love is attached. Loving ourselves should be the first thing we do every day. I'm glad I stopped by. Love LINDA

It's fun finding older poems that you forgot about ... like finding a fragment of your former self. "You are the dazzling star, the purest dream a river to the most beautiful stream" ... such pretty lines, Red. Confidence is a beautiful thing ... hard to love others if you don't love yourself first. Might sound strange, but it has a ring of truth to it. Enjoyed the read.

It is a pleasure to be reading this poem once again, Red, after I read it elsewhere yesterday! It is only short, but your emotions are unmistakably powerful! Self addressed, but it could so easily have been expressed to you by your reader:) #7 hugs / paul
