If Only I Could

If I only I could regain the moments we shared,
Then things would be different,
If only I could have listened more as you were talking
I wouldn't be trying to remember them so hard.
If only I had said my farewells
I wouldn't still feel the pain that I feel.
If only I could have eased the suffering,
Maybe you would be here.
If only I could hear your voice,
Then I wouldn't have to shed a tear,
If only you were here,
I wouldn't have to find an escape to the pain,
If only you could whisper to me now,
I wouldn't be sitting here with tears in my eyes.
If only I could see you,
Things would be better.
But since I can't,
Continue to watch over me,
And to smile upon me,
Continue to help me keep the memories of you alive,
Continue to be there with me --- even in spirit
If only, is the only thing I really have left to say.
