If Only
I watch you
darting in and out
the peripheral
of my life
I try not to notice,
scratching at my eyes
I forced myself
to scour them out
hearing your voice
its dulcet tones
wrap me in velvet,
I shiver to the bone
trying not to hear
my hands grasp
my ears, until beating
I rip them off
a waft of Joop smothers
me in your scent,
maddened, my desire
for you peaks
I cannot see you
and will never hear you
and your smell
drives me wild
If only
