If Only

Saturation by commercial enterprise the bright illuminations of Christmas dazzle sincerity and simplicity, alas if only i could see through the eyes of a bygone childhood the flame the peace the spirit of the eve, the truth the reason naive believe. If only i could see through one’s eyes. The way it use to be! © Harry J Horsman 2010

wow, such a profound one on the way we think about Xmas, becoming so jaded with time. I am so happy when I come back and find ones like this that I never had seen yet.

the way exists it allways will, and although in this poem you see the loss of a childhood innocence, there have been many lossses of such, even to the extent of herods murders of the young boys, again in an attempt to remove the (way) before the foundation stone was laid! so all the while the way is there so is hope! anyway it has given me food for thought, Harry so i have enjoyed the read on more than one level.thank you.Joe.

I don't know Harry...I feel that those days are gone forever...lost..even if you try to bring back those day for your children to "taste" the powers that be will not let you! We can only be grateful for memories and try to pass on the true meaning of Christmas to them. Hope all is well. Love, Audrey
