If Only
If only
there was a chance
that could turn time back
in precise circles warm embracing
those tender moments
that would always be
only yours and mine
forever remembered.
How precious is the love
that slips in unexpected
but undeniable
and were we aware then
to keep it close
when the heart recognizes it
but today it is just a ghost
of the if onlys we have lost.
