If My Dream Could Come True
If my dream could come true
I’d not be a king
or hero
or famous personality.
I would still just be me.
The things I would change may seem trite,
a wasted wish in the sight
of those who think riches are
the most valuable
thing.
I’d like to wake up and feel
that today would be
lots better
than yesterday.
And promise to pray
from that time forth to get what I need
from every thought, word and deed
to make my life fuller yet,
making sure I stay
me.
