If Men

If men could start a fetus From conception as a seed In their bodies, then of certain laws There would not be a need. For it's easy telling others What they can and cannot do When the rules you are enacting Never can apply to you. For equality I do suggest Some balances and checks. How about a law that forces Men to all abstain from sex?

Just recently on Family Feud there was a question about how much maternity leave men would need if they became pregnant. One of the answers was "forever." How true that they cannot relate to the act of bearing a child. Still, as a Catholic, I was taught that abortion is a sin. But so is enforcing the death penalty. I just respect people's own personal views as it pertains to their lives. Excellent and compelling poem, Ilene! Hugs, Carolyn

I agree Ilene with this powerful write. However, wouldn't you agree that at some point it becomes murder.(IMO) a woman should be able to decide within the first trimester if she wants to be a mother or a murderer.I believe it should be every woman's choice. Just like I believe it should be every terminally ill person's choice to decide if they want to die with dignity. Very well written.

Males do not menstruate, get pregnant, have miscarriages, nor abortions, ergo all they can contribute is inadmissible hearsay evidence. You are quite right, Ilene, that many believe their all-knowing 3x-power god is too stupid to stop an abortion when they can plainly see what is best for a pregnant woman without knowing anything about her! oh Ilene this is so powerfully penned - should be shown to all anti abortionists many of whom seem to be male! We are just having a law passed that will allow abortions to be carried out on the Island rather than going to the UK and many of the opponents to this have been men. Hugs Jan xx
