Domestic violence is a worldwide epidemic, needs to be eradicated.

Listen to poem:
If love is a battlefield Sarcastic words are launched like glass hand grenades Shattering her dignity, she's bruised, battered and afraid When coming home fills her with a dreadful trepidation When her words walk on eggshells trembling in expectation Chorus If love is a battlefield then, somethings not right Home should be a safe haven, not cut like a knife Oh, if love is a battlefield and there's a cry in the night It's time to seek shelter the choice is fight or flight When every word she utters, puts her in imminent danger When the man she said she'd love forever, is now a total stranger When a question ignites a fire and the flames lick her skin Her hope burns to the ground her spirit dies within Chorus If love is a battlefield then, somethings not right Home should be a safe haven, not cut like a knife Oh, if love is a battlefield and there's a cry in the night It's time to seek shelter the choice is fight or flight When her courage and her value have packed their bags and left All she wants is some comfort, and a simple day of rest She bravely, put out the fires one by one Thinking tomorrow will be better, when today is done but, When the bottle is his best friend, the battle can't be won Oh, if love is a battlefield and there's a cry in the night It's time to seek shelter the choice is fight or flight fade Originally posted 2016 Revised with music and vocals August 6,2025 Posted August 10,2025
