If I Were Your Lover
If I were your lover, I'd pamper you,
making every day your happiest day.
And I'd make all of your wishes come true,
while coaxing your inner child out to play.
You'd experience a lifetime of joy;
I'd never treat you like yesterday's toy,
and make each moment a gift to enjoy.
You'd never fear the dark; I'd be your light,
you'd never lose your way; I'd be your sight;
and in your fantasies, your shining knight.
You'd feel a love known only to a few;
for I'd listen to every word you say
without being condescending or coy,
while we'd cuddle tight and talk every night.
