If I Were Your Love

If I were your love, my sweet,
I'd give to you all that I could meet.
From morning's light to evening's end,
I'd stand behind you, my dearest friend.

I'd shield you from the fierce storms,
And fight all battles, till their forms
Blurred away in the distance far,
For my love for you is like a star.

With each moment passing by,
My beautiful love for you will never die.
I'd take the thorns that your path line,
And make them mine.

I'd be your strength, your guiding light,
Till your heart is filled with pure delight.
My love will never fade or cease,
For it's your happiness that gives me peace.

If you ever fall, my dear,
Don't worry, I'll be right here.
To lift you up and hold you close,
And guide you through life's impending lows.

I'll give to you my heart and soul,
And never let our love go cold.
No matter what the hurdles will be,
Our bond will stand true and free.

If I were your love, my sweet,
I'd cherish you till our very feet,
To the end of time, we shall stand,
Together forever, hand in hand.
